WRC TIRES

BFGoodrich Tires replaces Michelin in WRC for 2006

BFGoodrich Tires will replace its sister brand Michelin in the FIA World Rally Championship with teams Ford and Skoda in 2006. And rally fans say the move might ignite a tire war with the WRC's other rubber supplier, Pirelli.

BFG already participates in the Dakar Rally, and North America's SCORE Desert Racing Series, so it brings extensive off-road racing experience to the multi-terrained World Rally Championship. The WRC runs events on mountain, snow, gravel and rocky roads on four continents.

BFG also competes in American drag and stock car racing.

At this time, BFG has a three-year contract with the WRC. Sister brand Michelin will continue its participation in Formula One and Le Mans 24 Hours.

What this means to SUBARU FANS:

BFGoodrich is the industry standard for most American muscle cars, don't be surprised if you start seeing BFGoodrich tires on the next Subaru WRX
