Subaru Impreza – 215/45 R17 Z Bridgestone RE04

 The tyre of choice on the Subaru Impreza WRX STI is the Bridgestone RE040 size 215/45 R17 Z. This tyre is a little harder than the standard performance tyre offering; however the RE040 has the ability to stick to the road when warm. With some road testing we can see why a firm tyre is the choice of Subaru as the pressure the car puts on its 4 wheels is quite considerable thus requiring a sturdy tyre sidewall.

The Subaru Impreza enthusiast’s tyre of choice is from experience a Goodyear GSD3 and a Toyo Proxes T1-R. This is interesting as these two tyre models are directional and the Bridgestone RE040 model is not. So we think you would consider a directional tyre when making your replacement choice.
